Portrait Series: In Bloom with RIkki by Moriartie

Hey There!

I fell in love with the Mt. Airy Arboretum so much, I went back out a week later with Rikki and fell in love with the flowers all over again! Rikki is one of my favorite models to work with, she and I are always on the same page. When I see something she’s always able to finish and complete my vision. Is this what you’d call a muse?

Here are my favorites, You can see the whole album on my Facebook page.

Let's Explore: Mt. Airy Arboretum by Moriartie

Hey There!

I was wanting to explore the city and find more areas to photograph in, when I came across the Mt. Airy Arboretum on a list of beautiful places in Cincinnati, and once I got there, it definitely didn’t disappoint. Several acres, of beautiful leaves, flowers and trees, along with two gazebos, benches, and a trellis covered garden at the top. When I went there the first time, I was having camera troubles, and had to photograph my model on film!

DSC00441.jpg
DSC00442.jpg

I’d never done that before but she and I both had an absolute blast! After our hour shoot, I was able to research and fix my issue. So I wandered around and was able to take some model less photos of the beautiful grounds and landscapes.

DSC00447.jpg
DSC00454.jpg

I think I really have fallen in love with how beautiful flowers and trees can be once they’re in bloom. I’ve never really been one for hanging outside, but these parks I’ve been visiting in the last year or so is definitely turning that notion around for me.

Portrait Series: Storm Goddess with Rikki by Moriartie

Hey There!

I’m always up for adventuring somewhere new! The other day I got the opportunity to wander around the downtown of my city. I’m always driving through it but I have never had the opportunity to wander through and take my time exploring it. Thankfully, I was able to do that with Rikki last week! There were so many concepts, ideas and locations popping out at me that we wandered around for almost three hours without realizing it!

Here are a few of my favorites, you can see the full album on Facebook!

Portrait Series: Spring Goddess with RIkki by Moriartie

Hey There!

A couple of weeks ago I got to wander around Spring Grove Cemetery with Rikki at the height of our beautiful spring weather and I was not at all disappointed. Everything was in bloom, and I was overcome with the beauty of the flowers and the beautiful landscape. I had no idea how big Spring Grove Cemetery was! It’s going to take several trips before I can confidently say I’ve seen the whole thing!

Here are my favorites from this shoot!

Let's Explore: Mt. Storm by Moriartie

Hello There!

I had an off day a couple of weeks ago, and decided to use it to find another park to add to my locations to shoot list. Needless to say, I was successful.

This particular park is located in Northside, but with this awesome location comes an even better view. Its in the hills of Clifton, and you are able to look upon a good portion of the city from just one of the hills in this park and I fully took advantage.

One of my favorite additions in this park is the beautiful Grecian Gazebo, towards the front of the park.

I think my favorite thing about this park is its view, you can see practicly the entire city from just one of its hills! Its definitely going to be added to my list of locations.

Let's Explore: Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery by Moriartie

Hello There!

DSC01166.jpg

I was on my way to an interview when I passed this cemetery. I had never been in the area before, which meant that I had to travel the same way back home, so I could check it out!

DSC01202.jpg
DSC01177.jpg

When I arrived, I parked down by the entrance, and walked around the cemetery, it took me about 30 minutes and I only hit a quarter of it. It’s definitely a family run cemetery the house was on the lot. Which I thought was pretty neat, but the cherry on this awesome pie?

DSC01170.jpg
DSC01215.jpg

The cemetery had its own friendly neighborhood cat! It didn’t have a collar, so I don’t know its name, but it was super friendly, and hung out with me the entire time I was wandering around. I was sad to leave honestly.

Let's Explore: Spring Grove Cemetery by Moriartie

Hello There!

_DSC2037-2.jpg

I’ve wanted to go to Spring Grove cemetery since I was a child. It is one of the largest cemeteries in my hometown, and I drive by it constantly, without actually ever having the time to go in.

DSC00045.jpg

So not too long ago, I finally got the chance to schedule a shoot there, and it was the perfect timing, all of the beautiful flowers were blooming, the sun was shining and I was in absolute heaven. Since I was with a client, I was only able to get a few photos of things that wasn’t her, but I can’t wait to go back and wander around once I have some more time.

Let's Explore: Ft. Wright by Moriartie

Hello There,

One of my favorite things to do when I don’t have a human model to photograph is to wander the city in search of something that is going to peak my interest.

20190422_142503.jpg
20190422_142412.jpg

It could be anything from Architechture and landscapes to animals and skylines.

20190422_142415.jpg

I love being out in the sun, taking part in my most favorite hobby. The other day, I had the awesome opportunity wander through some forests and meet a friendly neighborhood cat.

20190421_170908.jpg

Although I’ve really been into Portraiture lately, its so much fun to just travel around your city on your own time and to just watch it move from the sidelines. You never know what you’ll see., and even better what you’ll be able to capture,. once you get out there and have the chance to shoot.

Portrait Series: Persephone Rises with Rikki by Moriartie

Hello There!

DSC01764.jpg

I’m back with a fresh new shoot! The beautiful Cincinnati weather was nice, the sun was shining and I was absolutely itching to get some photography in. So I called up RIkki and I said, Grab the closest outfit you’ve got to the Muses from Hercules and meet me in Clifton and the rest as they say was history. She showed up looking a Greek Goddess awakening for Spring and I am so in love with these photos.

I always have such a blast shooting with Rikki, and I can’t wait to do some more! I have so many concepts in my head and I just don’t have enough time to get them out! I’ve also been itching to shoot some more film portraits so that is my next step.

Are you excited about the warm weather?

Let's Explore: Friendship Park by Moriartie

Hello!

I have added yet another park to one of my favorite places to photograph. Friendship park in Columbia Tusculum is filled with sculptures and art pieces that just makes my heart sing. I went for the first time last friday, and I have fallen in love.

DSC01458.jpg
DSC01291.jpg

This particular park is full of awesome art installations that create amazing backdrops for my photography. I’ve done two shoots here, and its one of my go to places for portraiture, when I’m undecided on a theme.

DSC01384.jpg

It even comes with its own TRAIN! As I was wandering around with Rikki we stumbled upon it, and I couldn’t let the occasion pass me by.

Portrait Series: The Colors of Hammed by Moriartie

Hello!

I had the wonderful opportunity to head out to a brand new park last week and photograph a brand new person! It was also only my 2nd fashion focused shoot, and I was so nervous, but I’m really pleased with how the photos came out. My wonderful model, Hammed, had four outfits that she wanted photographed, and thus we headed out to explore the park and find awesome places to photograph the cool outfits. Her taste in fashion was so clean and crisp, business and sleek.

Here are my favorite edits from the shoot!

Let's Explore: Pan!c is in Cincinnati by Moriartie

Hey Gang!

I crossed off something from my bucket list. Seeing Panic at The Disco Live. Brenden was AMAZING! I filmed quite a few of the performances, and even though I was smushed between my friend and a teenage annoyance, I had an absolute blast. I am a little sad, I didn’t think about bringing my longer lens, which would have helped with my concert photography, since I wasn’t close to the stage, but the photos look pretty good for 35mm pancake lens.

Let's Explore: Snow Day! by Moriartie

Hello!

Although you never really know the weather in Cincinnati we were blessed with a few days of snow and I definitely wasn’t going to let it get away from me. Although I am definitely more interested in warm weather there is something absolutely breathtaking about fresh snow. The city thinks the same way, because even though Streets haven’t been cleared and it was the middle of the snow storm, there were still plenty of people out and about.

Let's Explore: Mariemont and beyond by Moriartie

Hello!

I’d heard there was an abandoned bell tower in Mariemont and I have been wanting to visit it for a while. I’ll have to go back when its open to explore, but I still managed to get some pretty awesome photos from the outside. Since it wasn’t enough to sate my curiosity, my sister and I randomly wandered around the city. Here’s what we found.

Portrait Series: CATS! by Moriartie

Hello!

Cats are a persons best friend. Sure most people say that about dogs, but there’s just something special about cats. They’re kind, intelligent and just small wonderfully independent bundles of personality. I have three cats, Geronimo, Kahn and Leia, and I stopped by a friends house to hang out, and couldn’t resist taking photos of their cats in their natural habitat.

Hello!

Cemeteries have always been some of my favorite things to photograph. I love seeing the different dates and types of tombstones that are presented. This cemetery had a LOT of flowers, which is something I don’t normally come across, so I couldn’t exist the opportunity to get some up close and personal pictures of them. A good portion of them were fake, but I still thought they looked really pretty and deserved to be photographed.

Hello!

I love me a good bookstore! I was out and about in Clifton picking up sushi when I came across the bookstore next door! I get Sushi there all the time, and I have no idea why I just now discovered it, but it was such a magical experience walking through here, taking photographs and video for my monthly vlog, and drooling all over the novels that lined the shelves! It was two floors but the basement was under repair so I couldn’t go explore that either. I was wandering around his store for 30 minutes, so I bought a copy of Dante’s Inferno, to make up for any trouble I may have caused.

Hello!

While I was by the riverbank with my friend Sheneal, we came across some people we'd never met before and they allowed us to photograph them. I definitely got some practice photographing men, which I’ve pretty much never done before. It was definitely a unique experience and I had an absolute blast! I’d love to just wander the city and take photos of people simply because they’ve asked me to and get paid for it. I suppose that’s the dream?
