Portrait Series: Rhythm of the Night with Kelsey by Moriartie

Hey There!

I shot at night a couple of days ago and I had such a blast. Photography has introduced me to so many different ways to create and network with other creatives in my city. I really do love it so! I had the awesome opportunity to photograph with Kelsey two times in a row! Once during the day and once during the night! For this excursion we wandered around a distillery and its surrounding area at night because it was covered in lights that I just knew would be awesome for the shots I was trying to take.

Luckily, we wandered around and found an empty floor of a building that was being remodelled and the only light in the area was this color changing strobe, which of course I loved! I was so excited to get Kelsey in front of it and I just absolutely love with you think of something and then when you try to bring it to life it actually happens? That’s definitely the most rewarding part about photograph for me.

Portrait Series: Mousekateer with Kessiah by Moriartie

Hi There!

I wasn’t sure what kind of theme I was going with for this shoot, but afer I started editing I realized that her outfit, and smile reminded me of Mousekateers from Disney Land, and now its a thing. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

I also get a little mermaid vibe… Maybe I just have Disney on the brain.

Portrait Series: IDFWU With Tesha by Moriartie

Hey there!

I finally got to shoot with Tesha! I feel like I was trying to link up with her almost as long, if not longer than Dani. I love photographing bomb ass women, its my favorite thing to do , but if they’re bad ass then they are undoubtedly busy and trying to link schedules can be difficult. We wandered around townhouse row in covington, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to photograph. One of the townhouses was under construction which was absolutely perfect for the aesthetic of the shoot!

Let's Explore: Floral Paradise by Moriartie

Hi There!

I actually photographed this same place in the winter a couple of years ago, and I was so excited to photograph it as it actually bloomed some gorgeous flowers this summer! This was one of the first times I got to take out my xt20 and I fell in love with the way it captures colors, and its lightweight feel! It is still hefty but not heavy! I love having it as a daily shooter!

Let's Explore: Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery by Moriartie

Hello There!

DSC01166.jpg

I was on my way to an interview when I passed this cemetery. I had never been in the area before, which meant that I had to travel the same way back home, so I could check it out!

DSC01202.jpg
DSC01177.jpg

When I arrived, I parked down by the entrance, and walked around the cemetery, it took me about 30 minutes and I only hit a quarter of it. It’s definitely a family run cemetery the house was on the lot. Which I thought was pretty neat, but the cherry on this awesome pie?

DSC01215.jpg

The cemetery had its own friendly neighborhood cat! It didn’t have a collar, so I don’t know its name, but it was super friendly, and hung out with me the entire time I was wandering around. I was sad to leave honestly.

Let's Explore: Spring Grove Cemetery by Moriartie

Hello There!

_DSC2037-2.jpg

I’ve wanted to go to Spring Grove cemetery since I was a child. It is one of the largest cemeteries in my hometown, and I drive by it constantly, without actually ever having the time to go in.

DSC00045.jpg

So not too long ago, I finally got the chance to schedule a shoot there, and it was the perfect timing, all of the beautiful flowers were blooming, the sun was shining and I was in absolute heaven. Since I was with a client, I was only able to get a few photos of things that wasn’t her, but I can’t wait to go back and wander around once I have some more time.

Let's Explore: Ft. Wright by Moriartie

Hello There,

One of my favorite things to do when I don’t have a human model to photograph is to wander the city in search of something that is going to peak my interest.

20190422_142503.jpg
20190422_142412.jpg

It could be anything from Architechture and landscapes to animals and skylines.

20190422_142415.jpg

I love being out in the sun, taking part in my most favorite hobby. The other day, I had the awesome opportunity wander through some forests and meet a friendly neighborhood cat.

Although I’ve really been into Portraiture lately, its so much fun to just travel around your city on your own time and to just watch it move from the sidelines. You never know what you’ll see., and even better what you’ll be able to capture,. once you get out there and have the chance to shoot.

Until Next Time,

Let's Explore: Friendship Park by Moriartie

Hello!

I have added yet another park to one of my favorite places to photograph. Friendship park in Columbia Tusculum is filled with sculptures and art pieces that just makes my heart sing. I went for the first time last friday, and I have fallen in love.

DSC01458.jpg
DSC01291.jpg

This particular park is full of awesome art installations that create amazing backdrops for my photography. I’ve done two shoots here, and its one of my go to places for portraiture, when I’m undecided on a theme.

DSC01384.jpg

It even comes with its own TRAIN! As I was wandering around with Rikki we stumbled upon it, and I couldn’t let the occasion pass me by.

Let's Explore: Pan!c is in Cincinnati by Moriartie

Hey Gang!

I crossed off something from my bucket list. Seeing Panic at The Disco Live. Brenden was AMAZING! I filmed quite a few of the performances, and even though I was smushed between my friend and a teenage annoyance, I had an absolute blast. I am a little sad, I didn’t think about bringing my longer lens, which would have helped with my concert photography, since I wasn’t close to the stage, but the photos look pretty good for 35mm pancake lens.

Let's Explore: Snow Day! by Moriartie

Hello!

Although you never really know the weather in Cincinnati we were blessed with a few days of snow and I definitely wasn’t going to let it get away from me. Although I am definitely more interested in warm weather there is something absolutely breathtaking about fresh snow. The city thinks the same way, because even though Streets haven’t been cleared and it was the middle of the snow storm, there were still plenty of people out and about.

Let's Explore: Mariemont and beyond by Moriartie

Hello!

I’d heard there was an abandoned bell tower in Mariemont and I have been wanting to visit it for a while. I’ll have to go back when its open to explore, but I still managed to get some pretty awesome photos from the outside. Since it wasn’t enough to sate my curiosity, my sister and I randomly wandered around the city. Here’s what we found.

Meet My friend Sheneal. She is a great portrait photographer. I want to get on her level. So she let me photograph her near the river a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been wanting to get more practice in photographing people, so we met up at Riverside park in Kentucky and wandered around in the cold.

We must have had the same idea, because we were dressed similarly. Which actually made it easy for me to practice poses that I’d done with myself on other people, which is always a fun experience.

We wandered around the riverbank and ran into some interesting people which we photographed, photos of them in another post, and had a blast. These were done with my Canon. I can’t wait to post some pictures from my Sony.
